Wonderful Meiji Period Japanese Silver Wired & Wireless Cloisonne Enamel Vase. RARE large and finely done early Japanese Cloisonne Enamel vase. Decorated with three life-like Koi fish. Swimming among changing tones of light gray to light blue gray enamel. The scene is completed with Irises and colorful blossoms over the unusual dark green ground. The vase is mounted on sturdy brass rims with nicely aged patina.

Hading, silver wire and wireless technique is wonderful and certainly done by a master of Early Meiji Japanese Cloisonne. Very stout, well made piece. This antique cloisonne vase is in very good original condition with some minimal pitting commensurate with making these early pieces. There is a baking pit about 1/4 from when made and can be seen on shoulder in back.
