Unusual Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase with Abstract Butterfly Design

  
Here is a truly amazing Japanese classic yusen shippo (with standard wire) enamel cloisonné vase. The vase is worked with group of abstract butterflies and a dragonfly. The design is mid-century and provides a powerful yet simple expression.

The background is worked with a light cream white enamel is in excellent vintage condition without any major faults such as cracks, chips, hairlines or restorations. The bottom rim is marked Made In Japan. I also anticipate that I will include this specific Made In Japan marking in a future edition of my reference book.

The height of this vase is approximately 5.0 inches. The width of the vase is approximately 4.75 inches. With the seldom encountered white enameled ground and abstract design, this vase is can be considered very rare by collectors.

Due to the fragile nature of cloisonne enamels, this vase will be double boxed and packed with tremendous care.
