Here is an unusual formed Japanese cloisonne enamel vase with a monochrome mint green enameled ground. The background is workedwith a solid, light green, primarily musen (wireless) ground, in excellent vintage condition without any cracks, crazing, hairlines or restoration. The only notable condition issue are the oxidation spots on both the mouth and bottom rims. The vase is worked with a desirable shippo or four directions design encircling the mouth of the vase. The height of this vase is approximately 6.25 inches.
The width of the vase is approximately 4.75 inches. Overall, a very elegantand simple vase in excellent vintage condition signed by the Ando workshop, one of the most respected, innovative and influential cloisonne enamel firms still active since the Meiji Period (1868 - 1912).
