The coloring of these early pieces much darker and richer than more recent pieces. Not your common Ando fish Japanese vase.
A fantastic vase in hand. Silver rims identified with silversmith mark on base rim as seen in photos. Signed on base with the' Maltrese Cross' mark of Ando, Jubei. An early mark for Ando before mass produced for export like most. This vase exhibits very high standard of fine Japanese hand craftsmanship. Eight koi fish, silver rims makes this a special early piece. This antique vase is in excellent original condition.
No cracks, chips or repairs. Some minor wear to base rim. The recurring white spot is flash.
Sized at approximately 6" tall, 4" wide. Very solid, heavy piece for size. Please see photos as an integral part of this description. Sometimes the camera catches what I don't. From my own personal collection, this fine vase is gorgeous in hand and would be an excellent addition to your own cloisonne collection.
Please check my other auctions. I pack very promptly and securely.
