Rare & Gorgeous Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne Vase with Gold Gilded Enamel. This listing is for a stunning antique Japanese bronze cloisonne enamel vase circa 1900. Two layers of hand enameling with three dimensional depth, contrasting a rich royal cobalt blue underground with a silver wired design using the Ginbari technique of gold foiling makes this an unique and truly breathtaking piece for any collector of Japanese cloisonné craftsmanship and a rare find for all enthusiasts. Underneath the first layer of blue enamel which is detailed with an ultra fine gold gilded outline of a parrot at rest on leaved branches, is a secondary layer of advanced gold filling foil work with complex and precise color gradation alternating in various gold-green and gold-red/orange combinations inlaid in both the tree and the bird.

The lip and base of the vase are trimmed in silver plated bronze. The vase is also completely enameled on the inside as well as the bottom base, which is glazed in an interesting color contrast of a bright turquoise enamel seen no where else on the vase. The lip and bottom rim are also detailed with matching curled wave patterns of green-gold wiring against the royal blue and filled underneath with a sea-shell pink grained enamel. In our opinion, the best description of the artistic skill portrayed in the design of this vase is a visual one. Please expand all photos for detail and clarity.

The vase is in absolute pristine condition with a perfect, gorgeous all over glaze that makes for an extremely elegant, satin finish that is not overly glossy. The backside of the vase has a small speckled area of pearlescent pink sheen dusting underneath the enameled glaze, not so much a flaw, but a possible manufacturing error.
