This is a beautiful pair of antique Japanese Meiji period Turquoise Cloisonne enamel vases, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The vases are fine quality cloisonne enamel depicting a naturalistic scene of blossoming stems with lovely butterflies flying about. They have a bright turquoise ground with mosaic-like detail around the neck and base, brass wires and mounts. The vases have complimentary mirror image designs which look beautiful whichever way they are displayed. The vases are in good antique condition with just a couple of age related pits in the enamel and one vase has a tiny chip with related hairlines. They measure 6 1/4 high.
