Pair of Vintage Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vases -Excellent Condition. With gorgeous chrysanthemums climbing from the base, this pair of vintage cloisonne enamel vases in a gorgeous deep red are show stoppers. On the back, under the glaze, the vases are embossed with a bamboo frond, as shown in the fifth picture.
The base and top are rimmed in silver. Each vase comes with it's original wooden stand. There is no maker's mark on the bottom so it's hard to tell exactly when these were made. They are from a large collection of Japanese objects belonging to my mother-in-law.
She was stationed with the military in Japan in the 1950s, so my best guess is that these are mid-century vases. There are no visible flaws or damage. The glaze is in excellent condition (no scratches, cracks or bubbles) and there are no scratches or dents in the silver rims. Each vase stands 7-1/2 inches tall without the small stand. Please read the item description and examine all photos carefully, and ask questions before purchasing.
