This is an absolutely stunning. Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Vase made in Meiji period (1867 - 1911). The silver wire works on this vase is extraordinarily sophisticated and amazing. You would recognize at least three silver wires in different thickness. Purple and white AYAME (Japanese Iris) flowers are mesmerizingly depicted on a calm gray color background. The vase is stored in a wooden box made of paulownia, which was newly custom made for this vase. In Japan, it has been believed that p. Box is the best to keep valuable / fragile things for long period of time. S in fairly good condition.

Pin holes on the surface. They are quite common in cloisonné enamels made in Meiji period. Hairline clacks just under the upper metal rim (photo #9 & two left side photos of #10). Light dents on the inside surface (only) of the upper metal rim (two right side photos of #10).

Sign of aging on the surface of the bottom metal rim (photo #11). The shining parts on the photos are reflection of light, i. Approximate Size: Height: 24.5 cm / 9.6 in Diameter: 11.0 cm / 4.3 in W. Eight: 440 g / 15.5 oz.
