Old or Antique Japanese Silver Mounted Yellow Cloisonne Enamel Koro/Lidded Jar

  
A fine Japanese cloisonné koro. Comprising a koro or jar base with 3 feet covered by a conforming lid with a silver mount to the lid and top rim, leaf shaped openings surrounded in green enamel & purple floral accents to the lid, and a polychrome depiction of a phoenix or a peacock in flight on a bright yellow ground to the body. The lid is marked with a jungin mark for pure silver.

Together with its carved wooden stand. Simply a wonderful piece of Japanese cloisonne! It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.

There is a hairline in the cloisonne to the underside of the lid (likely from manufacturing). Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Signed to the base of the vase with a crescent moon maker's mark and to the lid's silver rim for sterling silver. Please see our other related items. Thanks for looking and good luck!
