Up for your consideration is a massive Japanese champleve/cloisonne vase from the mid-Edo period, c. It measures an impressive 23,5 tall, weighs about 30 lbs. And is in excellent condition. It is signed with a 6-character Chinese symbol on the underside.
The vase is of baluster form, rising to a flared lip, raised on a flared foot, the body decorated with two phoenix-form handles and four flower-form cloisonne enamel panels, raised on a hardwood stand. The large front and back panels appears to each have small yellow dogs running through the decoration (very unusual).
The vase is cast out of solid bronze, and inside the vase (at the bottom), the vase has an incised decoration, indicative of the finest quality at the time. The vase measures 23.5" tall, 16" wide, and 12 deep. It weighs about 30 lbs. Overall, the vase is in excellent condition, with a rich and even patina. The cloisonne is complete, and free of losses or damage. The vase is also in excellent condition, free of dents, dings, restoration, or other condition concerns. There are several inset raised white "beads" throughout. They are made of a natural material material, which has formed cracks through the aging process. This is insignificant, and does not impact value. This quote is for the Continental U. FREE scheduling, supersized images and templates.
