Large 12 antique Japanese cloisonne vase with dragon, bird and foliate designs

  
A large and attractive antique Japanese cloisonne vase. The body of the vase is decorated with six shield shaped panels of alternating dragon and birds designs, with bands of flowers and foliate designs above. The underside of the base has speckled multicoloured enamel and the inside of the vessel has the usual turquoise colour. Date: Circa early 20th Century.

Some of the enamel on the inside of the neck is absent and there is a hairline crack in the dark blue enamel on the outside of the neck. Dimensions: Diameter of body: 12.989 cm (5.114") Diameter of rim: 6.899 cm (2.716") Height: 30.633 cm (12.060) Weight: 646g.
