A fine Japanese Meiji period Ginbari Foil Cloisonne Butterfly vase.. Vibrant polychrome Ginbari enamels worked in silver and gold wire on black ground displays four panels of butterflies surrounded by geometric motif. Broad shouldered baluster form in gilt copper mounts having decorative bands at both the rim and base. With width at shoulder of 7 cm. Is estate fresh as shown in photo #11 with a scuff to the red enamel having little to no impact on presentation.
