Here is a rare Japanese classic yusen shippo (with standard wire) enamel cloisonné vase worked in the traditional Kyoto design signed by Inui Eizaburo. The vase is worked with complex and intricate design including beautiful flower heads (sakura) flowers. The elegantly shaped vase is in excellent antique condition without any major faults such as cracks, chips or hairlines or restoration. While I have been trying to acquire an example of this elusive artist for quite some time, only recently was I able to find this signed example that I could acquire and document as all of the other exampes were priced out way out of my range. The artist signature, is incised into the bottom base, with a six kanji characters, reading Kyo-to Inui Higashi-yama Zo, which translates to made by Inui in Higashiyama, Kyoto.
This artist signature (signature only) is anticipated to be included in a future edition of my reference book. Overall, a very bright and high quality cloisonné vase that we hope to discover additional examples of this talented artist. The height of this vase is approximately 3.5 inches. The width of the vase is approximately 1.5 inches. As cloisonne enamel is very fragile, we will double box this vase and pack with tremendous care. The item "Japanese Cloisonne Enamel vase by Elusive Kyoto Artist Inui Eizaburo" is in sale since Monday, July 6, 2020.
