This is a wonderful Japanese Meiji Bronze Cloisonne Enamel Vase from about 1890. It is 8 1/4" tall, 11 3/4" wide, the base is 5 3/4" wide and the opening is 8 3/4" wide.
There is a repair to the enamel, 3/4" long and 3/8" wide on one of the Turquoise panels, mostly in the background on the left side. Shown in the 3rd and next to the last photos. There is also small piece of enamel missing from the bottom. There are age cracks in the enamel underneath but none elsewhere. Each panel is 5 3/8" wide and 5 5/8" tall in the decorated area. The decorated band at the neck is 1 1/8 tall with Aventurine like Mica in the brown and green bands. The band above the foot is 1 tall. The lobed panels, swell out about 1/4 from the body of the vase. The vase is about 38 in circumference at the widest part. The panels are inspired in part by the French Art Nouveau movement.The hardwood base from the 1950's is included and is 1 1/8" tall and 8" wide.
