Extremely Fine Japanese Cloisonne Silver Wire Rare Geisha Vase Meiji Period. Amazing piece of ginbari enamel in rare form with Japanese cloisonne featuring human figures being exceptionally uncommon. Vase features very fine silver wirework with multiple layers. A beautiful female Geisha is featured prominently in the center of the vase. Her robes are green and blue ginbari in the bottom layer.
Her white powdered face is in the middle layer, while her black hair and hands are in the top layer. The rest of the vase is decorated in flowers over a red ginbari ground in the middle layer. The stems and leaves of the flowers are in the top layer, while the blossoms are in the middle layer. The wisteria vines hanging from the neck of the vase are also in the top layer.
