Exquisite Antique Miniature Japanese Cloisonne Vase with fine silver wire cells

  

ANTIQUE JAPANESE MINIATURE CLOISONNE VASE OF BALUSTER FORM. A small treasure from my personal collection of traditional Asian decorative arts. Premier example of desirable form and size - sensitively enameled with bird perched on a flowering tree against a jet black ground. A narrow blue key band encircles the base, just above the brass foot.

Stellar craftsmanship in the demanding process is evidenced by use of extremely fine silver vs. The artisan achieved both technical excellence and beauty. Very good condition with scattered minute mars in black enamel at rear of vase just beneath the shoulder. 3.6" (9.2cm) high, 1.3" (3.3cm) mouth diameter, 2.0 (5.1cm) wide at shoulder.
