It is in overall excellent condition condition with only one visible chip on the big vase. It's all the way at the top on the rim and is not huge, but it's there.

It does not take away from the integrity of the vase nor from the beauty of this particular lot. The Japanese have specialized in many things including pottery.

For a long time they would not even deal with foreigners period. Their vintage vases are some of the finest in the world in my opinion. All of the gorgeous intricate details in the flying Phoenix and the quails as well. Just unique, to say the least. When I first inherited these, not too long ago, I gazed at them intently.
