CHOICE ANTIQUE JAPANESE CLOISONNE FLUTED BALUSTER FORM VASE. A treasure from my personal collection of traditional Asian decorative arts. A tour de force of classic form and premier quality - sensitively enameled in multiple colors against a rich goldstone, black, and speckled green ground. Narrow aqua bands embellish the fluted mid-wall. Small butterflies, elaborate roundels, flowerheads and pearl swags decorate the body. The lowermost wall incorporates a cloudwork border above aqua dots. Exposed brass mouth rim and foot. Stellar early 20th century craftsmanship in the demanding process - evidenced by use of fine brass wires forming cells, precisely controlled colors and uniform polished surfaces.

The artisan achieved both technical excellence and beauty! Maintained for a century in prized perfect condition! 3.8" high, 2.1" max.
