Hello Cloisonne Collectors - This vase has condition issues - please carefully read the detailed description section to avoid any disappointment. Here is an example of a wonderful early vase which incorporates several different techniques. First and foremost, the highlight of the vase are the two ginbari (silver foil) ground fan shaped panels. The two characters are " Kotobuki " and " Fuku " which mean best wishes, longevity, and good fortune.

The two panels are outlined in twisted wire, which is a difficult technique as the artist must polished down to achieve the visual effect of the twisted wires. In the two other fan shaped panels, the artist has highlighted these with particles of gold-stone which provides a wonderful sparkling finish. The height of this early vase is approximately 4.88 inches. The width of widest portion of the body is approximately 2.5 inches. Overall, a complex and finely executed vase in good antique condition.

The only major condition issues are two small areas in a lower fan shaped panel that have short hairlines. Since the enamel ground is a dark brown enamel ground, it is very difficult to see and even harder to capture in a photograph. Thank you for your continued support!
