Here is a nice cloisonne enameled miniature teapot made by a very meticulous artist. The elegant pear shaped miniature teapot is worked with two phoenix birds; one on each side of the teapot. The miniature teapot is finely worked with a densely goldstone ground, resulting in a wonderful sparkling effect.

The miniature teapot is in excellent antique condition without any major faults such as chips, hairlines, losses or restoration. The only notable condition item is a small area of impact on the lower side of the teapot. The area is noted on a picture and best described as a bruise with minimal cosmetic impact. When I acquired this miniature teapot, I was immediately drawn to the fine detail and high quality. Even the brass floral form finial was hand made and finished with the highest level workmanship.

This exact piece is pictured on page 123 in Chapter 15, "Yaku-Jippo, " items serving a utilitarian purpose, " in Gary Yoshino's "Japanese Cloisonne Enamels - A Private Collector's Notes and Reference Guide. The height of the miniature teapot is approximately 3.5 inches. The width (handle to spout) is approximately 5.0 inches. Overall, a fine example of a miniature teapot with a wonderful sparkling effect from the densely packed goldstone. Due to the fragile nature of Japanese cloisonné enamels, this item will be double boxed and packed with tremendous care. This item is in the category "Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Vases". The seller is "gyassociates" and is located in this country: US.
