This cloisonne enamel vase is about 7 ¼ inches tall. It has a yellow-green background color with a lovely, delicately rendered design of flowers and ducks on a pond.
The design is on the front, and the back side of the vase is undecorated. This piece has silver color metal rims which are not marked and I dont know if they are solid silver. The underside has an inset wire mark, and Ive read that this is the Hayashi Kaname studio mark, and that it is circa 1950s. This is from on-line research and I dont know if it is accurate. There is an area on the top rim with some dings/dents and scratches, and also a chip and a few lines where the metal rim meets the enamel see photos with red circles. The 2 photos of the metal rim are of the same spot from the side and the top. This area is located above the pink flowers at the front of the vase. To me it is not overly noticeable or detracting.
The vase also has normal surface wear and scattered brown specks/pits which can be seen in the close-ups. The vase has a very slight wobble if you push on it, so it is not exactly flat on the bottom this is very slight, mentioned for accuracy, and the vase is completely stable. Overall, an absolutely charming and lovely piece of cloisonne art. Sometimes Priority can be cheaper than Parcel Select, depending on your zip code and the weight of the package.
