Here is a rare Japanese classic yusen shippo (with standard wire) enamel cloisonné vase worked with six boldly designed cranes. The cranes are uniformly worked in white enamel; where the bold and starklines create a stylized profile.
The huddled cranes bodies gradually dissipates towards the bottom of the vase, lost in a light green musen (wireless) enamel mist. The elegantly shaped vase is in excellent antique condition without any major faults such as cracks, chips or hairlines or restoration. Overall, a superb example that we hope to discover more information regarding this gifted artist who has pushed the envelope on the stylized design of this vase. One fellow collector did ask about the conditon of the wires and the cloisons (wires) appear to be silver, so there would be some natural oxidation; there is minimal "above surface" oxidation meaning that the wires are flat to the surface of the vase. The height of this vase is approximately 3.5 inches.
The width of the vase is approximately 1.75 inches. As Japanese cloisonné enamel is very fragile, we will double box and pack this item with tremendous care.
