A pair of artistic Japanese wireless cloisonné vases that match but are not identical. They have black enamel backgrounds with pink and blue Japanese iris designs that flow from vase to the other.
The vases have copper foot rings and bronze mouths. Their bases are coated in a yellow enamel.3 ½" (8.9 cm) diameter x 7 ¼" (18.4 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 4.1 oz (565 g). One vase has a dent on the mouth with a chip in the enamel below this. This vase also has some enamel chips in the iris foliage.
The second vase has some cracks in the enamel just under the mouth, but the enamel remains firmly attached to the vase. There is also two cracks in the enamel extending from the base.One crack is approximately 1 long. The other is very short. The enamels on both vases have tiny wear marks and a few pin holes, and the enamels on the bases show crazing and cracks. The bronze on the mouth and base have darkened with age.
