This is an authentic vase created by. Japanese artisan Ota Hyozo and is from the Meiji period.
It bears Hyozo's signature under the vase. It stands at just over 6 inches tall.
Of ovoid form with a short cylindrical neck with an everted rim. The background is a light mint-blue foil. A large deep pink peony is featured on the front.
It also has elegant branches with foliage in deep shades of turquois blue and hunter green. An additional smaller bud is shown on the upper right-hand corner. The vase has been created with Ginbari foil with silver wire and has a translucent quality. The condition of this antique is fair.Considering that the vase is close to 170 years old, there is crazing and chipping in several places. Please view the pictures for more details.
