This is an antique Meji era Japanese cloisonné Akasuke vase. It is extremely fine and crafted with akasuke red color enamel over a beautifully carved silver body.

Exhibits a wonderful high shouldered shape in a very rare 12 lobed melon shape, showcasing four carved scenes of grass, bamboo, wisteria, and birds. Beautifully worked piece exhibiting the full scope of this artists ability. A very large tall vase 10" high and is quite wide at 8" wide, making this a well constructed heavy unusual piece. The piece is in excellent condition.

Very unusual and desirable vase bearing the Japanese mark for silver. Silver mounts were only used on the best quality pieces. The vase has a unique origin from Japan and is a perfect addition to any collection.
