This antique Meji era Japanese cloisonné vase is a picturesque work of art that will add an element of elegance to any space. The intricate design showcases a beautiful green color scheme, and its originality and age, dating back to circa 1900, make it a rare find. Signed in wire by the renowned master GONDA HIROSUKE. Measures 8 1/2" high by 6" wide, it is a very well constructed and finished piece, displaying some of the best wire work of the period.
The piece has a serene realistic feel to it, that just stands out, even when next to the finest work. Condition is good with the exception of two shallow rim chips (shown in the last two photos), just under the sterling rim (unmarked but tests for sterling), which have been neatly touched up. Does not effect the display of the item at all. The primary material used to create this masterpiece is cloisonné, which has been skillfully crafted to create a stunning scenic view.
This vase is a perfect addition to any antique collection or as an exquisite standalone piece.
