An antique Japanese, late Meiji period, enamel over brass vase. The vase has an amphora shaped body and a narrow fluted neck. The ware is enameled with a polychrome image of a bird in blossoming flowers and trees on the black ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The base of the vase is adorned with a polychrome foliage motif made in the same technique. Marked with an impressed stamp, on the bottom.
