Antique Japanese Meiji Cloisonne Enamel Vase Style of Namikawa Sosuke 1870's

  

For sale magnificent antique Japanese cloisonne enamel vase. In a style of Namikawa Sosuke (1847 - 1910). Meiji Era (1862 - 1912). Vase dating from 1870 - 1880. The elongated ovoid vase worked in polychrome enamels and silver wires with pigeons in flight.

Blossoming flowers and grains on an apple-gey green ground, the neck and foot with a band of floral lozenges. The quality of craftsmanship is superb. The enamel work is outstanding. 6 3/4 in diameter across t he widest.
