Antique Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne Enamel Dragon Vase

  
An antique Japanese Meiji period Ginbari enamel vase. The ground of the vase is enameled in blue and cobalt blue shades. The vase is enameled with a polychrome image of a dragon over the waves made in the Cloisonne technique.

Ginbari is a Japanese cloisonne technique when clear enamel is laid over a stippled silver layer applied to the copper sheet body. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
