Antique Japanese Cloisonne Vases Pair Dragon Phoenix Meiji C. 1890

  
An Antique circa 1890 true mirror pair of Japanese cloisonne vases. These are four sided with rounded edges and picture a dragon and phoenix on opposite sides.

They are decorated with scrolls and prunus and the dragon panels have gold flecks. They measure approximately 7 tall. The enamel on the exterior is glossy and shiny with just minor pitting common to cloisonné this old. Under the rim of one vase is a tiny spot of enamel loss. The enamel on the inside and bottoms looks distressed and there is a small loss of enamel on the bottom of one vase.

There are some minor dents to the metal rims and bases. Not perfect but they have a really strong look of the era and display beautifully.
