Antique Hattori Tadasaburo Imperial Cloisonne Pillowed Wood Storage Box for Vase. Today we are happy to offer for sale a wonderful antique Hattori Tadasaburo presentation box for a vase! Was a Japanese cloisonné artist from Nagoya. Along with Kawade Shibataro, Tadasaburo developed the moriage or "piling up" technique which places layers of enamel upon each other to create a three-dimensional effect. He was the appointed manufactured of the Japanese Imperial Household. Many of his works are held in prestigious collections such as the Victoria & Albert Museum. The presentation case is nicely crafted of wood and features a bespoke pillowed interior covered in white silk. The luxurious box was crafted to protect and display the beautiful cloisonne vases manufactured by Hattori, which are still treasured collector's pieces.

The box features the original paper label colorfully decorated with a cloisonne vase and lovely flowers. Box presents well and is in good antique condition, with minor surface wear and patina commensurate with age. There are a few old, age-related stable fractures.
