Antique 7 1/2 Lidded Tea Pot Jar Urn Meiji Era Early Japanese Cloisonne Vase

  

This beautiful covered tea pot from the Meji Era measures 7 1/2 tall in excellent condition. Just a beautiful whimsical example of early Japanese cloisonné work. Likely a Kyoto house that made it.

Really nice example with goldstone green ground and well executed butterfly's all around. I believe that judging by the heavy use of wire to contain the enamel that this piece dates to the early period of cloisonne manufacture. The top is enameled and matches beautifully. Finished on the interior with a wonderful bright green counter enamel.
