Pleased to offer a charming Japanese cloisonne partial ginbari (silver foil ground) vase with an angelfish. This globular shaped vase has a beautiful tropical fish, most probably an angelfish worked in colorful enamels. The miniature vase is in superb vintage condition without any major issues such as cracks, hairlines, loses or restoration.

In this interesting example, the artist has placed the angelfish design on a round silver foil ground. This dramatically caused the angelfish to become the focal point, with the round shaped ginbari ground highlighting the fish. This small piece is actually a creative masterpiece as the artist formed water reflections from the natural creases and folds of the silver foil as it was placed on the curved surface of the foundation. The vase is marked Made in Japan on the bottom rim of the vase. The height of this vase is approximately 3.5 inches. The width of this vase is approximately 3.25 inches. Overall, an attractive work in mint condition that maintains a wonderful balance of the subtle light blue opaque enamel ground and the dynamic and reflective angelfish on a round ginbari (silver foil) ground. Due to the fragile nature of cloisonné enamels, this item will be double boxed and packed with tremendous care.
