HERES AN EXCEPTIONAL ORIGINAL LATE MEIJI-ERA OR POSSIBLY TAISHO-ERA SIGNED JAPANESE GINBARI (GIN-BARI / GINBARI-JIPPO) CLOISONNE (SHIPPO-YAKI) ENAMEL-ON-COPPER VASE CREATED BY OTA TOSHIRO THAT DISPLAYS A MAGNIFICENT 360-DEGREE UNDERWATER SCENE OF REDDISH-ORANGE ORANDA AND ONE CHOCOLATE ORANDA GOLDFISH SET AGAINST A DARK-GREEN TO PINKISH ENAMELED BACKGROUND OVER A SHEET OF SILVER FOIL MADE UP OF SEA PLANTS AND A MYRIAD OF SMALL DOTS! Measuring approximately eight and one half inches (8 1/2) in height by two and one half inches (2 1/2) in diameter across the top, this exceptional late nineteenth or early twentieth century Japanese ginbari foil-cloisonné-enamel-on-copper vase is signed (see photos above) on the underside bottom with the stamped seal / mark purportedly for Ota Toshiro. Please Note: The base metal for this ginbari vase is copper, the foil sheet that wraps the entire exterior is silver, and the top and base rims ate made from brass. The Oranda goldfish were completed as wireless cloisonné (Musen shipp). Condition: Excellent and clean condition with age darkening to the brass rims.
