Elegant 8 ¼ tall vase with a colorful pheasant with cherry blossoms in a truly Japanese design. The vase has such delicate and labor intensive designs. Tall cylindrical body with an extremely delicate design of a pheasant on a lively blue background. The throat of the vase was painted with a rich greenish turquoise enamel. The red tongue of the pheasant is so tiny and even the feathers of the pheasant have such a precise shading.The blue body enamel has small minute metallic silvery dots. The vase is made from brass and coated in glass enamels, with brass wires form cells to separate the colors. The mouth and foot show the brass body.
