Large & Impressive Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase of 3 Peacocks by Tamura PIB
Really excited to offer a spectacular vase depicting three stylized peacocks. These large and impressive vases are collected for their striking and bold designs. Tamura clearly shows his artistic and innovative style by leveraging small areas of ginbari (silver foilground) to accentuate the striking design. Tamura creates a powerful interpretation of these majestic birds with another level of color and composition. The background is finished in a high polish, light blue enamel in pristine condition without any major faults such as cracks, crazing, hairlines or restoration. This exact piece is illustrated in Chapter 16, Yusen-jippo, standard wire cloisonne enamel, in Japanese Cloisonne Enamels; A Private Collectors Notes and Reference Guide, by Gary Yoshino, page 146. I may use the signature and images of this wonderful vase in future Newsletter articles or future publications as Tamuras work is often creative and innovative. Overall, a very vibrant work on a very rare form and creative use of ginbari (silver foil ground) highlighting. The height of this vase is approximately 11.0 inches. The width of this vase is approximately 5.25 inches. Due to the fragile nature of cloisonné enamels, this item will be double boxed and packed with tremendouscare.
