There are several specks on the back of the piece that are not rough to the touch but almost look like bits of off color enamel, I only wiped this off with glass cleaner and it may need a better cleaning. There are no chips, cracks or repairs to this piece, the exposed metal on the top is tarnished and may need a good polish.
