Antique Japanese Wire/Wireless Cloisonne Bronze Vase. Measures 4.9 Inches Tall. For sale is a remarkable antique Meiji Period Japanese cloisonne vase of very high quality.

This vase unfortunately has two small condition issues, each being in-between the main front and back cloisonne decorations. Originally this vase had both wired cloisonne enamels, as well as small areas of overglaze painted enamels which have withered away over time. Both condition issues are to the overglaze enamels that were painted on, where they have worn down and there's just a small area of remnants left Condition issue #1 is shown in pictures #3,4,5 and condition issue #2 is shown in pictures #8 and #9.

This remnants of the overglaze enamels can almost be chipped off with your fingernail (sort of, you'd need another tool as well), so one side might be able to be cleaned up very nicely, while the other has one small crack to the red enamel underneath (again seen best in pictures #4, and #5). If you were to find away to fully remove the rest of the overglaze enamels, all you would be left with is that C shaped hairline in the red enamel body. Overall, the vase looks incredible even as it is, and it displays even better on a shelf. I'm not sure who the maker is but maybe it can be attributed to someone as it is made with excellent craftsmanship.
