Antique Japanese Metal Cloisonne VASES/LAMP Bases Matching Pair
A pair of antique Japanese tall fluted bronze enamel vases made as lamp bases in the champlevé technique of casting the surface to create cells that are then filled with opaque enamels and kiln fired. The bulbous body depicts a scene in the round of poet scholars on horseback with attending retinue. The neck of each vase is banded with enamel foliate flora. Good condition overall, one perfect, one with small dent. No base or hardware included.
